Mazda Unveils All-New MX-5 RF – Los Angeles, CA
Following the original MX-5 Retractable Hardtop’s goal of making open top driving more accessible to people around the world, Mazda has unveiled the all-new MX-5 RF, or retractable fastback. The new design features sleek fastback styling with a unique power roof and retractable back window for open-air driving.
The power roof takes just a few seconds to completely retract, and can be opened or closed at speeds up to 6 mph with the press of a button. The roof is stowed compactly in a space behind the seats, and trunk space remains exactly the same as the soft-top Mazda MX-5 Miata.
To accentuate the new design of the MX-5 RF, Mazda has developed a new color called Machine Gray. This color will be available on a wide range of Mazda models, including the all-new Mazda CX-9, which is set to go on sale this spring. A special painting process that uses thin, high-brightness aluminum flakes gives the vehicle a realistic metallic look.
The new MX-5 Miata has also been winning awards around the world, thanks to its eye-catching style, excellent driving characteristics and innovative SKYACTIV technology. Recently, the MX-5 was named the 2016 World Car of the Year, 2016 World Car Design of the Year, Autobytel Convertible of the Year, Autobytel Sports Car of the Year and an Automobile Magazine All-Star for the 11th time.
With more than a million units sold since its introduction, the Mazda MX-5 Miata remains one of the most popular and accessible sports cars you can buy. For more information about the new MX-5 Miata, visit us today at Galpin Mazda.
